December 2017 News

Well here it is – the 2018 FJHRA Calendar

It contains something for absolutely everyone, from our birthplace at Monza, to our 2 grid bonanza at the Silverstone Classic, from new circuits to discover to old favourites to rediscover.

With the 2017 season seeing 109 UK Championship Competitors, 78 in the Lurani, and 281 individuals so far on the World Tour, the FJ Family is an exciting community to be a part of, and we’re delighted we’ll be welcoming a number of new drivers to the fold in 2018!

The FJ Diamond Jubilee World Tour may be 2 years in already, but we truly believe 2018 will be the most rewarding and spirited year of fun yet!

For any of you who aren’t currently paid members, you are all welcome, as racers or non racers.

Autosport International Racing Car Show – FJ 60th Anniversary Display; 11th – 14th January

We are very thankful to the HSCC for allowing us to feature the FJ 60th Anniversary on their stand at this years’ Autosport Show.

We will have a display of 6 cars, showing the evolution of FJ during it’s period, and on Friday 12th January, we’re delighted that over 20 Period Drivers will be joining us on the stand at 2pm, to reminisce in conversation with Ian Titchmarsh, so why not come along and see us too?

Trade days [open to MSA licence holders] are the 11th and 12th and open to the public on 13th & 14th January. [Opening hours 09.00 -18.00 daily]

The Show takes place at the NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT and tickets are on sale now http://www.autosportinternational.com/ticket-info

Our exhibit will be in Hall 6 on Stand 6220.

FJHRA Charity Auction

Thanks to the generosity of donors and bidders alike, and of course the standup performance of Auctioneer Michael-Ashley Brown, our 2017 Charity Auction raised a fantastic £1475. This will be split equally between our 2 chosen charities this year; the British Motorsport Marshals Club and the Henry Surtees Foundation.

For anyone who hasn’t received the latest Tour details, and would like to, don’t hestiate to get in touch.  The more the merrier! Seperate Front and Rear engined grids at each event.

Scam Emails

A few members have received emails saying they are from FJHRA, but the email address is entirely different, sometimes a german email address.

They are links to scam emails. Please do not open them!

I never ever send invoices as links, in fact I rarely ever send them at all! If I do, they are word document or PDF attachments.

Be cautious always. If it looks dodgy, 99.9% of the time it is dodgy!

Trailer for Sale?

Phil Foulkes is looking for a small covered trailer for his Lotus 20/22 for next season, when he’ll be joining us from NZ. Robin Longdon has offered to check out any that may be offered for sale. Please let me know if you have any leads I can forward to them?

Kind regards, and a very Happy Christmas!
