Kieft FJ

  • Chassis #2. One of 5 produced.
  • Originally purchased and raced by future F1 driver David Prophet. Later campaigned by Fred Edwards.  
  • The Kieft was purchased by its current owner in December, 1989. The car was then restored from 1990 to 1995.
  • Thereafter the Kieft was successfully raced in U.S. historic races. The Kieft won the 2009 U.S. FJ/2 Championship. It was also the recipient of the coveted CSRG Jack McKee Award for excellence in restoration and preservation.
  • The car’s most recent race was the 2017 Formula Junior feature race at the Monterey Reunion where the car continued to run at the top of its class.

Cooper T56

  • 1100 c.c. BMC engine with 45 DCOE Weber carburetor. Hewland Mk.4, five speed gearbox.
  • According to Cooper chassis records, this Cooper T56, chassis number FJ-17-61, was originally delivered in 1961 to A.Liekens in Belgium. The 1985 FIA papers for the car report that Liekens “… severely raced it (the Cooper) before using it as a racing school car at Zolder. Passing through the hands of vaious owners, Rob Haze bought it in 1983, and rebuilt it to its current state and spec.”

  • The Cooper is part of a larger collection of vintage racing cars, and has been used sparingly in the past few years. However, it has continued to be professionally maintained, and will be sold in ready to run condition.

Ginetta G8

  • This totally unique Ginetta G8 qualifies for many prestigious events including Goodwood and 2024 – 60th HF3 anniversary events.
  • Unique as it was the only one ever built by Ginetta, featuring a fibreglass monocoque, internal front suspension all on a car designed in 1963.

1961 Gemini MK3A-09 Ford

  • Imported new to New Zealand from UK in late 1961 by Rex Flowers, this now historic 1961 Gemini Mk3A chassis number 09 Formula Junior (FJ) (the last of nine Gemini Mk3A cars built) has been in New Zealand ever since. 
  • At the request of Rex, Gemini constructor The Chequered Flag of Chiswick, London, the car was tested (raced) by Bill Moss at Silverstone on 7th October 1961 (1st place in two races), and again by Bill on 8th October 1961 at Snetterton (DNF – brakes).
  • The 1060cc Ford engine currently fitted to the car has a Farndon forged steel crankshaft, JE Pistons, SAENZ conrods and is dry-sumped.  The engine is due for a ‘freshen-up’. 
  • New brake drums have been machined and fitted into the front wheels.
  • There’s a spare fibreglass bodywork nose section, a spare fibreglass tail section, as well as the nose and tail body moulds. There’s also a spare windscreen and mould, suspension jigs, the original chassis, a set of four new Dunlop racing tyres, plus an amount of spares and support equipment, and the Gemini’s own road trailer.
  • Included are an extensive tabulated race history and photographs of the car, and a written race history of Rex’s 1962/63 and 1963/64 seasons (all on a flash drive), plus race records and event programmes dating from 1996 when I purchased and began racing the car.
