FJHRA Newsflash 2016/16

Dear FJHRA,

Well what a couple of months it’s been! We’re half way through a run of 8 FJ races on the trot, and neither quality nor enthusiasm are waning which is fantastic.

As I wrote on facebook after the Chichester Cup FJ Race at Goodwood – it made me proud! No contact, no controversy, just FJ Class!

And I managed to make it to our Silverline races at Spa myself last weekend; such a fabulous meeting, and wonderfully relaxed paddock atmosphere, where we also crowned Kim Shearn the Sector 3 FJ World Tour victor, presenting him with the Caravelle Trophy.

So where next? Mallory, Castle Combe, Dijon and the Silverstone Finals!

GENERAL NEWS

Return of Annual Trophies – Mallory Park or Castle Combe please

In advance of the AGM this year, can last year’s lucky winners, please start polishing and returning their trophies.

Justin Fleming kindly volunteered to take over Trophy duty, so we need to get them to him.

If you are at Mallory tomorrow, please bring and pass to Alex Morton

If you are at Castle Combe, please give them to Justin direct (and also your race snippets as he’s doing the race report there too.)

International Historic Motoring Awards

“The search is on to find the very best of the best in the world of historic motoring, as nominations open for the sixth International Historic Motoring Awards (IHMA), in association with EFG Private Bank and Octane magazine.”

Nominations close on October 1st.

FJHRA would fit the categories of Club or the Year, and Race Series of the Year, just in case you thought we were worthy! it’s not every year that a single category can gather 101 different cars on track at one event across a weekend! : ) The link to nominate is here; http://www.historicmotoringawards.com/nominate.php
