FJHRA Auction

This year we will once again be running our Annual Auction at the AGM, led by the one and only Michael Ashley-Brown, which not only ensures the venue roars with laughter, but also raises some great funds.

Once again this year the proceeds will go to worthy causes.

Your generosity in donating lots is greatly appreciated, so if you have something in mind of a motor racing or motoring context, do let me know in good time. If you can send a description of the lot, a photo, your view on a guide price and a figure for the reserve (the sum below which the item should not be sold).

Please do also help us out by not making any – on the day donations’ this year.

This will enable the item to be advertised to maximize its value and be available for bids by those unable to attend the auction. This will also make life so much easier for Michael in preparing for the auction.

HSCC Dinner Dance – Saturday 19th November

The HSCC Dinner Dance will be extra special this year, as the culmination of the Clubs 50th Anniversary.

If you are a UK Championship winner, please do try to go to collect your award.

FIA HTP Renewals/Pricing

A reminder of the note I sent in July. After the June World Motor Sport Council meeting, the following was announced.

FIA Historic Commission

In order to smooth the processing of Historic Technical Passports (HTPs), the World Motor Sport Council has approved a plan to simplify the system.

As part of this simplification, ASNs will be charged a single fee per HTP regardless of the type of car commencing on 1 January 2017. In addition, the change involves all HTP applications being invoiced, as opposed to only those that result in an HTP being issued.

The fee has been reached by taking the average fee under the current system and reducing it by ten per cent to help encourage further growth in participation in Historic motor sport. These changes are subject to the approval of the FIA General Assembly in December.

You are advised if you have a Period E car to get your HTP renewed well before the end of the year if it is due to run out at the end of this year, and perhaps even next, as Period E pricing, as the lowest band for FJ, is likely to see some increase in the fee. The exact new pricings are not yet known, and will be announced in December I believe.

If you would like to be put in touch with an HTP registrar, please let us know.

If you renew your papers, while they are still valid, you will receive a 50% reduction in the FIA fee. MSA fees also apply, as do registrar fees.

UK Championship 2017

All competitors will require either an FIA HTP or an HSCC VIF to take part in the UK Championship from 2017 onwards.

FIA Historic Prizegiving;

The Prizegiving for the FIA Lurani Trophy Class Winners will be in Paris on Saturday 11th February

Kind regards,

Sarah
