Terrier Formula Junior 1960 Mk4 Series 2 Chassis no 5/1

  • Great Opportunity to acquire a totally unique, Ford powered front engined Formula Junior, the only one of its kind!
  • Designed by Len Terry, independent race car designer and driven by Brian Hart in period
  • This Formula Junior was built as a replacement for the original FJ Terrier Mk4 Series 1 chassis #1, which Brian Hart totally destroyed at Oulton Park in 1960
  • The Series 1 and 2 cars have completely different chassis, the Series 2 being lower and wider. (3 series 1 cars were made and only 1 series 2)
  • Unfortunately, in 1961 the rear engined revolution was well underway and although Brian had some good results, the team was totally underfinanced and only ran in the UK.
  • In 1965, with 1500cc engine, Roy Lee won the British Monoposto Chamionship.
  • Lawrence W. Sufryn, owned the car from 1982 until 2015 when it returned to the UK.
  • Lawrence raced this car extensively and successfully all over Europe from 1982 to 1997, claiming multiple successes in the FISA championship and the FJ Lurani trophy.
  • Lawrence moved this car to the US in 1998, raced 2 years in California (Laguna Seca, Sears Point, Thunderhill, Buttonwillow), before moving it to the Midwest in May 2000 (racing 2000-2002). Then raced at Grattan, Blackhawk Farm, Indy Raceway Park, VIR, Gingerman, Pittsburgh GP
  • Rebuilt in 2015/16 and now race ready.
  • Engine and carburettors serviced and rebuilt.
  • Ford Close Ratio Dogbox, BMC series Diff.
  • New front Koni 8211 Dampers, Original Rear non adjustable dampers serviced and rebuilt
  • All Aluminium body Panels fitted to conform with Championship Technical requirements (some spare fibreglass panels available).
