Cooper T59

-
This is one of 28 cars produced by Cooper in 1962 and still retains its original chassis plate.
-
Factory records show that this car left the factory in August of that year and was purchased by Charles Crichton-Stuart with a Ford Cosworth engine. There were only 2 T59’s supplied with a Ford engine rather than the BMC unit that all others had.
-
The car is well known to the Cooper car club who have the cars entire history including all known races on record. It currently has a 5 speed hewland gearbox fitted to the cosworth engine as it has been used for hillclimbs and sprints over the last 3 years. It had an engine and gearbox rebuild in 2018 before I acquired the car and with just 8 events since then it is very strong and ready to race.
-
The car can also be supplied with an original ERSA gearbox if required. It also comes with an additional set of new discs, wishbones and the original brass radiator has been restored at the cost of £1000 – but not fitted.
-
The car was subject to an expensive overhaul by a well known specialist when I purchased the car and it has run faultlessly in my ownership .
-
It has current FIA Historic Technical Passport valid for race and hillclimb until 2026
-
This is a great opportunity to acquire a rare car with extensive history which will allow entry to some prestigious events .
